“From hand to mouth will never make a worthy man.” (Mencius)
Our company’s management policy is based on the 5 Confucian virtues (benevolence, justice, courtesy, wisdom, and sincerity).
Company Principle
We are working together, and taking pleasure in helping customers, to make our workplace joyful and rewarding, in order to create a world in which everybody can live in health and in peace.
Okinawa Educational Publishing, Ltd. (now Okinawa Shizenkan) started as a publishing company in 1977. While he was fighting kidney cancer, President Kawabata decided to reform his own lifestyle and way of thinking, and as a result he realized the meaning of life and the importance of health and food. In order to put his new thoughts into action, and dedicated to establishing a business that would help people, Kawabata added an herb division, Okinawa Shizenkan, in 1993.
With our motto to “learn together, grow together, live together,” we strive to be a vital company in which everyone can maintain his or her independence, while paying attention to one another and building mutually fulfilling relationships.
Over the past several years, our company has engaged with environmental issues, and has employed people with disabilities. We try to be a “company with respect for others,” in which employees mutually respect, encourage, and grow with one another.
